Ben is a large, brown Great Dane with black markings around his eyes and on his muzzle. He wears a red collar that's almost like a necklace.

Ben is patient and wise, being slow to anger and avoiding violence when he can. He is caring towards his comrades, and is very respectful to any dog he meets. If he does have to fight, however, he can and will kill a dog if he absolutely has to. If he can spare an enemy, he will form a bond with them that will last a lifetime.
Ben was born and raised to be a hunting dog. One day, during a hunt, his master shot what he thought to be a flying squirrel. It turned out to be Akame, whom Ben’s owner decided to keep. But Ben freed Akame after the Iga dog begged to return to his puppies. Time passed, and Ben came across some Kai Ken puppies being attacked by a rouge dog. He attacked the dog, saving the puppies, and tending to them for a short time before returning home. Eventually, he was recruited into the Ōu Army by Riki, and grew to be one of the platoon leaders.
