Some people who choose to join us may not know what Ginga is. Ginga comes in manga and anime form, but there are only two anime. Ginga Nagareboshi Gin(GNG), and Ginga Densetsu Weed(GDW). The manga has become popular in America, and has been translated into English. Ginga has existed since the 70’s.
Ginga has different manga series. Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, Ginga Densetsu Weed, Ginga Densetsu Weed: Orion, and Ginga: The Last Wars. The entire series follows a pack of dogs called the Ōu Army, often commonly called the Ohu Army. GNG follows a young Akita puppy named Gin who is being trained to be a bearhound, find his father named Riki, and defeat the monster bear Akakabuto. GDW follows Gin’s son Weed on his journey to find his father and the Ohu Army, GDWO follows Weed’s son, Orion, and then TLW is the final Ginga series, about the Ohu Army trying to defeat Akakabuto’s son, Monsoon, and Sirius, Weed’s son, trying to negotiate with the bears. If you love dogs, you’ll love this series! There are also two ganin(ninja) dog clans called the Igas and the Kōgas. The Igas are usually Kishu Inu dogs or are white dogs, and then there are the Kōgas, known for having their own dog breed which is a fictional breed called a Kōga dog which has a signature mohawk. Once you look it up, you’ll catch on quickly!
